Who We Are
Wadas Dental & Associates at 9307 Calumet Ave, 2nd Floor, Munster is a privately owned family dental practice. Dr. Amy J. Wadas, DDS — a third-generation dentist — owns and operates this office.
There is no corporate office in another state calling the shots. No investors. No revolving door of providers. Our team — Dr. Amy J. Wadas, Dr. Erika Macias-Serna, and Dr. Moomal Khan — is consistent, stable, and gets to know you over time.
What Is a DSO?
A DSO (Dental Support Organization) is the industry term for a corporate company that buys dental practices and manages them like a chain — think Heartland Dental or Aspen Dental. Many local-sounding offices are quietly DSO-owned.
In the DSO model, a large investment firm acquires hundreds of practices nationwide. They keep the name on the sign, but a corporate team controls staffing, pricing, and financial targets. Dentists are often employees, not owners.
The Other "Wadas Dental" Offices & Who Owns Them
Other offices under "Wadas Dental" branding — including on Ridge Road in Munster and in Crown Point — are not part of our practice. The "Wadas" name has deep roots here, but those locations became affiliated with corporate dental ownership over time.
